PROPOSED ROUTES FOR RAMPION WIND FARM ON-SHORE CABLES THROUGH CROSSBUSH VILLAGE.
You may be aware of the proposed new Rampion 2 wind farm which will be sited just off Littlehampton and will come ashore at Climping beach. The cable route will pass through our Parish and, as shown on the map below, there are three potential options for the cables at Crossbush. Routes B and C pass directly through our village. The work is likely to take up to 18 months and will involve the digging of trenches up to 50 metres wide to site the cables, resulting in damage to natural habitats. There will be significant light and noise pollution, as well as a large increase in construction traffic along Crossbush Lane and Clay Lane if routes B or C are selected.
Now is our chance to influence the chosen route, if planning permission for the development is granted. Please contact the clerk of Lyminster and Crossbush Parish Council at the address below to express your opinion on the proposed routes. Our MP, Andrew Griffiths, is also canvassing opinion and you can access his survey via the link below.
Further Developments – ‘Rampion 2′ There are plans for a new project, Rampion 2 to be developed to expand the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm.
