A27 Old Shoreham Road sign renewals

Roadworks are taking place soon on the A27 Old Shoreham Road in the Lancing area of West Sussex.

 

The scheme will take place from 28 July to 20 August and will see traffic signs removed and replaced in and around the A27 Lancing Manor Roundabout and the Sompting crossroad junction (Busticle Lane), both westbound and eastbound. The works will be carried out in four phases.

 

28 July to 30 July – A27 westbound

Overnight (8pm to 6am) full closure. Weeknights only.
Phase 1: A27 Closed westbound between Old Shoreham Road Roundabout and Lancing Manor Road Roundabout. 

Diversion

  • Follow the A27 to Adur Interchange
  • Take the A283 towards Washington Roundabout
  • Continue on the A24 to A27 Grove Lodge Roundabout

 

31 July, 1 August and 4 August – A27 westbound

Overnight (8pm to 6am) full closure. Weeknights only.
Phase 2: Full A27 westbound closure between Old Shoreham Road Roundabout and First Avenue, including the Grinstead Lane (A2025) southbound exit from Lancing Manor Roundabout. 

Diversion

  •  As above for previous phase, via A27, A283, A24 and A27

 

5 August to 8 August and 11 August – A27 westbound

Overnight (8pm to 6am) full closure. Weeknights only.
Phase 3: Full A27 westbound closure from the Lancing Manor Roundabout to the A27 Sompting crossroads (Busticle Lane). 

Diversion

  • Take the A27 to Adur Interchange
  • Then the A283 to Washington Roundabout
  • Then the A24 to A27 Grove Lodge Roundabout. 

 

12 August to 15 August and 18 August to 20 August – A27 eastbound

Overnight (8pm to 6am) full closure. Weeknights only.
Phase 4: Full A27 eastbound closure between A27 Sompting crossroads (Busticle Lane) and Lancing Manor Roundabout.

Diversion

  • From A27 Grove Lodge Roundabout follow the A24 to Washington Roundabout
  • Then take the A283 to Adur Interchange
  • And finally the A27 back to Lancing Manor Roundabout.
